There are no uniform international or national standards for the size of urns; different regions and customs may have different requirements.
Common urn sizes include (length × width × height):
1. Small urns typically measure 10cm × 7cm × 6cm, suitable for storing a small amount of ashes, easy to carry and preserve.
2. Standard urns measure 20cm × 20cm × 25cm, suitable for storing the ashes of most humans or pets.
3. Large urns measure 30cm × 30cm × 30cm, capable of holding more ashes.
4. Extra-large urns measure 60cm × 60cm × 60cm, suitable for situations requiring the storage of multiple ashes, such as joint burial.
Standard Size: Some common standard sizes include 34cm × 23cm × 23cm. This size is suitable for most parts of the country.
1. Size preferences by region: For example, some areas in Shanghai, Guangdong, and Fuzhou prefer smaller urns measuring 31×20×20 cm;
2. In contrast, some areas in Kunming, Inner Mongolia, and Northeast China prefer larger urns measuring 38cm×24cm×23cm.
When choosing an urn, it is recommended to consider local customs and the requirements of the funeral home or cemetery.
